ARTICLE 1: SCHEDULE

The Spring 2023 Year of the Rabbit Race will  will take place on January 29, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.

The available distances and their schedules are as follows:

  • 5km run and walk – 09:00 m.
  • 8km race – 09:00 m.
  • 16km race – 09:00 m.

PLEASE NOTE: The event’s organizers reserve the right to alter these timetables. On the race’s official website, they will be updated.

ARTICLE 2: REGISTRATION

Online registration is available. The cost of this will never be refundable once the registration has been made.

Registration is open from October 1, 2022, through January 25, 2023, or up to the allotted time.

Ages:

  • 5km race: open to all participants.
  • 8km race: open to all participants over 16 years old
  • 16km race: open to all participants over 18 years old

Prices:

  • The 5km race costs €15 for all participants.
  • The 8km race costs €15 for participants under the age of 18.
  • The 8km race costs €18 for participants over 18.
  • The 16km race costs €18 for all participants.

 

For group registrations:

  • €14.40 per participant for the 5km race up to a maximum of 3 members.
  • €13.80 per participant for the 5km race up to a maximum of 4 members.
  • €17.30 per participant for the 8km race up to a maximum of 3 members.
  • €16.60 per participant for the 8km race up to a maximum of 4 members.
  • €17.30 per participant for the 16km race up to a maximum of 3 members.
  • €16.60 per participant for the 16km race up to a maximum of 4 members.

Promotions are not cumulative.

Registrations will not be accepted on the race day.

Payment for the amount will be made at registration.

5% of the registration fee will be allocated to the NGO Reforesta.

 

NOTE: All those under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times (with their corresponding registration) and may only participate in the 5km race. While those over 16 can take part in the 8km and 16km, as long as they are correctly registered, both on time and in form.

Participants under the age of 18 must provide a parental consent in order to run the race. You can download the authorisation from this page.

ARTICLE 3: DELIVERY OF BIBS, CHIPS AND T-SHIRTS

The numbers, official test chips as well as the T-shirts will be distributed at the China Cultural Center in Madrid (C/General Pardiñas 73, 28006 Madrid), during the following days and hours:

  • Friday, January 27: from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, January 28: from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 m.

NOTE: NOTE: The distances of 5 km, 8 km, and 16 km will contain timing chips to acquire race marks. The classification will only include athletes who finish the race using the official chip that the organization issued for this edition.

In order to pick up the bibs, It will be necessary to show the DNI of the registration holder.

When the person picking up the bibs is not the registered person, they must present a photocopy of the DNI registration holder and their own, signing  a paper issued by the organization to keep a record of the person who picked it up.

In addition, minors who run the 5K and 8K races must complete parental or legal guardian authorization to participate in the 5k and 8k races, which must be submitted while picking up bib numbers. The minor will not be allowed to participate the race if the required authorization is not provided.

TSHIRTS:

Participants must choose their shirt size when registering.

T-shirt sizes will be delivered in strict order of collection.

Available t-shirt sizes will always be subject to stock.

The organization does not guarantee that it will be able to deliver the requested size to all the participants, because the shirts are produced prior to the registration deadline.

ARTICLE 4: TIME LIMIT

The maximum duration of the races will be the following:

  • 5km race: 2 HOURS, with the finish line closing at 11:00 a.m.
  • 8km race: 2 HOURS, with the finish line closing at 11:00 a.m.
  • 16km race: 2 HOURS, with the finish line closing at 11:00 a.m.

ARTICLE 5: RACE ROUTES

The 5km, 8km and 16km races will run through circuits of 5,000, 8,000 and 16,000 meters respectively, starting and finishing on Paseo de Recoletos, next to Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid. All of the distances’ routes consist solely on paved terrain.

The routes will be duly marked by the event organization.

NOTE: The organization may modify the race route if it is forced by weather, safety concerns or any other reason of force majeure. Participants will be notified as soon as possible if these changes are made via the race’s official website, www.carreradelaprimavera.es.

ARTICLE 6: REGISTRATION FEES

There is one place per registration to participate in the Spring Race.

All participants will receive an exclusive T-shirt for participating in the race.

Option to purchase the commemorative medal of the event.

The race’s diploma will be sent by email the following day.

PRIZE DRAWING

The bib number is a direct entry into the prize drawing, which will be done using the prize drawing APP or something similar.

AID STATIONS

There will be 3 aid stations, the first is located in the central lane of Paseo de la Castellana, just past Plaza de Colón heading north (approximately km. 5 of the 8km and 16 km race), and the second is just after you exit the Plaza de Castilla tunnel, going south (approximately corresponds to km. 11 of the 16 km race. ). At these aid stations, there will be several tables with water.

The third will be at the finish line for all runners.

 

CHRONOMETER

The Dorsal-Chip technology will be used to clock the 5 km, 8 km, and 16 km tests. Only the Dorsal-Chips provided by the Organization at bib pickup will be accepted. There will only be a net time between the start and finish carpet line.

WARDROBE

The test cloakroom will be located close to the start-finish area (Paseo de Recoletos). This will be open from 08:00 until the end of the races.

Only one bag per participant will be accepted. This must contain the objects that the participants wish to leave inside. The identical race number will be assigned on a label that will be delivered with the race number; this label must be attached to the bag before putting it in the cloakroom.

Loose objects or bags without the aforementioned label will not be accepted.

 

ACCIDENT INSURANCE AND MEDICAL ATTENTION

All participants will be covered by a Collective Accident and Civil Liability Insurance contracted by the organization. Those derived from a latent condition, imprudence, negligence, non-observance of the laws, etc. will be excluded. Those caused by travel to/from the place where the event is held will also be excluded.

The directions given by the Organization through volunteers, technicians, authorized staff, or the official public address service must always be followed by participants. Each runner swears that they are in sufficient physical condition to complete the race and participates the Spring Race on their own initiative and responsibility. Before beginning, the Organization advises that all runners get checked out by a doctor and/or take a stress test.

The Organization disclaims any liability for harm that participants may experience or inflict on third parties in the hours after their participation in the race.

Any participant with medical problems (allergies, need for special care, etc.) must indicate this on the back of the number assigned to them for the race. It is also recommended that minors include a contact telephone number of their parent or legal guardian.

All of these rights will only be executable within the conditions and locations that the organization has specified and stated.

ARTICLE 7: VEHICLES

The circuit will be completely closed to traffic and only vehicles authorized by the Organization—which must be duly accredited—will be permitted to follow the race. Vehicles, bicycles, and scooters without authorization will explicitly be prohibited by the Municipal Police.

ARTICLE 8: CLASSIFICATIONS + CATEGORIES

There will be a general classification made for the 5 km, 8 km, and 16 km race participants for each of the distances.

On January 29, 2023, the organization will post preliminary classifications on its website, at which point claims that are judged appropriate may be filed.

Any claims regarding the classification must be directed to the test organization by 8:00 p.m. on the Monday following the race because it is the organizing committee’s unique and exclusive competence.

These must be sent to the email address that appears in the classifications. Within a maximum of three days of the competition date, the organization will inform the resolution of the claim.

For the 5 km race, the male and female classifications are as follows:

Individual categories (Years completed on the day of the test):

  • ABSOLUTE
  • CADET ( from 15 to 16 years old)
  • YOUTH ( from 16 to 18 years old)
  • SENIOR (from 18 to 34 years old)
  • MASTER A (from 35 to 44 years old)
  • MASTER B (from 45 to 55 years old)
  • MASTER C (from 55 onwards)

For the 8 km race, the male and female classifications are as follows:

Individual categories (Years completed on the day of the test):

ABSOLUTE

  • CADET (from 13 to 15 years old)
  • YOUTH ( from 16 to 18 years old)
  • SENIOR (from 19 to 34 years old)
  • MASTER A (from 35 to 44 years old)
  • MASTER B (from 45 to 55 years old)
  • MASTER C (from 55 onwards)

For the 16 km race, the male and female classifications are as follows:

Individual categories (Years completed on the day of the test):

ABSOLUTE

  • SENIOR (from 18 to 34 years old)
  • MASTER A (from 35 to 44 years old)
  • MASTER B (from 45 to 55 years old)
  • MASTER C (from 55 onwards)

ARTICLE 9: TROPHIES

The trophies will be awarded on the winners’ podium on January 29, 2023.

The following awards will be given out as trophies:

TEST OF 5km

  • Top 3 male finishers
  • Top 3 female finishers
  • Top 3 male finishers under 12
  • 3 first female finishers under 12

8km TEST

  • Top 3 male finishers
  • Top 3 female finishers

TEST OF 16km

  • Top 3 male finishers
  • Top 3 female finishers

VERY IMPORTANT

  • The NO presence in the act of delivery of Trophies will be understood as the renunciation of the trophies or prizes obtained. Any delegation by the winners to another individual must be known to and approved by the Organization at least 30 minutes prior to the delivery.

ARTICLE 10: Disqualifications

All participants must wear the original number on their chest throughout the race.

Any runner will be disqualified who:

  • Fails to pass through the established checkpoints
  • Fails to do the full tour
  • Alter or hide the bib advertising
  • Wears the Chip bib designated to another runner
  • Does not wear the original number assigned for this edition
  • Arrives at the finish line without a number
  • Shows poor physical condition
  • Manifests non-sporting behavior.
  • Does not follow the instructions of the organization’s staff

ARTICLE 11: ACCEPTANCE

By signing up, each participant agrees to abide by these rules. If there is any ambiguity or a circumstance that is not covered by them, the organizing committee will make the final decision.

The participant’s signature on the registration form (and the registration itself, in the case of online registration) indicates that they have read, understood, and are familiar with the following:

  • I certify that I am in good physical condition.
  • I exempt KDH, the sponsors or commercial sponsors, directors, employees, the Organizing Company of the event and other organizers from any liability that might arise from my participation in the event, such as loss of personal property as a result of theft or other occurrences.
  • I waive any claims for damages that might arise from my participation in the event.

I give permission for the event’s organizers to document all or part of my participation in it, as well as the participation of the individuals under my supervision, through photographs, films, television, radio, video, and any other known or to be known means. I also assign all rights related to their commercial and advertising exploitation that they deem appropriate, without my having the right to be paid.

By formally registering, all participants accept these rules and, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 regarding the protection of personal data of natural persons (RGPD), consent to the use of their registration-provided personal data and their race-related images for the organization, development, and promotion of the same, as well as for commercial, sporting, or promotional purposes (KDH Events ) .

These data will be incorporated into a file owned by ORTHOAMG SL, registered in the General Registry of the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

We inform you that you may exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition established in said Law by writing to the registered office of ORTHOAMG SL located at Calle Doctor Esquerdo 18, 28028 Madrid.

**Only the face-to-face race counts for the MRL by AS 2023.

Virtual

ARTICLE 1: The Race

KDH Events will host the third running of the “Spring Race – Year of the Rabbit” from Friday, January 20, 2023, through Sunday, January 29, 2023.

ARTICLE 2: Duration – Time limit – Ages

The chosen distance must be completed between  00:00 on Friday, January 20, to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

It must be carried out in compliance with the current regulations of each municipality caused by Covid-19.

TIME LIMIT: no time limit will be set for completion of the distance.

AGES:

  • 16km: 18 years old on the event day
  • 8km: 16 years old on the event day

5km: for everyone

ARTICLE 3: Route

Each participant will have the freedom to decide where they want to start the race route based on the distance they have chosen, as long as they follow both local laws and the Covid-19-related health requirements.

It is NOT ALLOWED to run on a treadmill.

The only requirement is that the participants must carefully complete the selected distance, as the race will not be valid if it lacks meters.

Each participant must complete the race using their usual activity device, then upload a screenshot or photo of the completed activity to a form on the race’s official website.

You will also be required to upload a photo (optional) of the runner wearing the official spring race T-shirt.

Classifications will be established for distances of 5km, 8km and 16km.

ARTICLE 4: Registration – Fees

Registrations will be available online from October 1, 2022, to January 16, 2023.

The 5km race costs €15 for all participants.

  • The 8km race costs €15 for participants under the age of 18.
  • The 8km race costs €18 for participants over 18 .
  • The 16km race costs €18 for all participants.

T-SHIRTS AND BIBS COLLECTION

On the 27th and 28th, at the time specified when registering, race t-shirts will be mailed to you or available for pickup at the CULTURAL CENTER OF CHINA IN MADRID.

Since the bibs are virtual and will be distributed to participants through email as soon as the registration procedure is complete, no actual ones will be delivered. The week before the event, final instructions and reminders for the race will also be provided via email.

The registration costs are never refundable after the registration is complete.

The following criteria will be used to create the unofficial classifications for the 16kilometer race, for both men and women:

  • ABSOLUTE
  • SENIOR (from 18 to 34 years old)
  • MASTER A (from 35 to 44 years old)
  • MASTER B (from 45 to 55 years old)
  • MASTER C (from 55 onwards)

The following criteria will be used to create the unofficial classifications for the 8-kilometer race, for both men and women:

  • ABSOLUTE
  • YOUTH (from 16 to 18 years old)
  • SENIOR (from 18 to 34 years old)
  • MASTER A (from 35 to 44 years old)
  • MASTER B (from 45 to 55 years old)
  • MASTER C (from 55 onwards)

The following criteria will be used to create the unofficial classifications for the 5-kilometer race, for both men and women:

ABSOLUTE

  • CADET (from 13 to 15 years old)
  • YOUTH (from 16 to 18 years old)
  • SENIOR (from 19 to 34 years old)
  • MASTER A (from 35 to 44 years old)
  • MASTER B (from 45 to 55 years old)
  • MASTER C (from 55 onwards)

On January 31, the organization will post the unofficial classifications on its website, at which point claims that are judged appropriate may be filed. 48 hours will pass during the claims period before the classifications are considered final.

Because the organization cannot absolutely guarantee the validity of the results acquired by the competitors, the classifications of the event are considered to be “unofficial.” The organization does, however, recognize a “Unofficial” classification in which the participants’ FAIR PLAY is accepted.

ARTICLE 6: Aid stations

Due to the virtual nature of the competition, official aid stations cannot be established from the event organization. For this reason, all runners are recommended to hydrate properly.

ARTICLE 7: Refunds

In no event will the registration fee be refunded.

ARTICLE 8: Prevention actions

It is advised that everyone take the fundamental precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Some bits of advice:

  • Avoid congested locations when running the event.
  • Avoid peak hours of the day with most pedestrian flow on public streets.
  • If the first two options are not feasible, cover your face when you enter busy
  • Wash your hands before and after the race.
  • Bring your own hydration bottle.
  • Avoid running too closely behind other people leaving a minimum distance of 5m.
  • Leave 2m lateral space when overtaking.

ARTICLE 9: Disqualifications

Those participants who:

  • have not completed the full distance
  • Had race times significantly faster than their usual average
  • have another runner do the race in their place
  • show uncivil conduct or disregard the contagion prevention measures regarding Covid-19
